My good friend , conservation photographer Paul Hilton, is in the jungles of Sumatra helping a team that are confiscating Orangutans by documenting their actions and trying to bring the story to the world.Paul is self funded and has been down there for 2 weeks already, his funds are running low and he will be forced to leave in a few days time.
This is why I started this site. I wanted to see if it might be possible to setup a page where people can donate directly to this cause. There's no hidden costs (or hidden agenda's) here!
Paul's work on the ground in Sumatra is really helping the Orangutans. We need to keep him there. It’s a dangerous environment for a western journalist at the best of times, but with the recent events Paul is taking great risks to protect a species from extinction.
He needs FUNDS. Even just a couple of dollars from everyone, will help to keep Paul on the ground, and on the front lines. 100% of donations go directly to the cause to help cover flight and accommodation costs
Here is a message I just received from him....
“Just got another confiscation info, but back up towards Banda Aceh, I can't seem to wake any funds up... This story in Sumatra is so untold..I really want to stay on but I may have to pull out. Me being here really helps when we go into former Rebel areas from Aceh war etc, a foreigner with a big camera really helps to make them give up the orangutans. In the past they just say no and the police are too scared to touch them...”
